I had a revelation today, that no matter what you do or no matter how hard you try to do it you’re not going to please everyone.
I know, I’m late in realizing this
I am a bit of a people pleaser, but it seems that’s not enough. I had a client today who had different expectations of a delivery time than I had understood. That misunderstanding (where I thought I was delivering early) almost cost me the client.
I have other clients who this wouldn’t have even been an issue. Neither type of client is wrong, it’s just interesting to think about how other people view what you do/your work/your personality/your life.
So, the lesson here is you can try to please everyone but you can’t. This experience did open my eyes as to what I can do better in my business…both in the ghostwriting and the Internet Marketing aspect of it. It was hard to know that I had unknowingly let someone down and held up their business.
I know the changes I need to make to do this, and it’ s managing my time working many hours a day with a baby on my lap
What are you going to do to make sure you’re living up to as many expectations as possible? Is that even a consideration?
Maybe people pleasing isn’t everything, but it is when you’re in business for them.
