Getting Started With Copywriting

I really love writing ebooks and articles…mostly because of the freedom it brings me and my family. I also enjoy researching different subjects and really digging down to find the best research to bring to my assignment. BUT, there are those times where it all seems to drag and drag…and sometimes I find myself wanting to try something different.

I decided to get into copywriting a little while back, party for this reason!

I know that copywriting is sort of the cornerstone of the Internet. If you want to make sales, you’d better know at least a little about writing copy. When I made this choice a few months ago I went to Amazon and bought several books on writing copy, bought a few online ones, a membership to the Copy Doctor and studied my buns off.

I’m having a great time with it! It’s hard breaking into the world of copy…there are definitely a subset of copywriters who think they are the be all end all and that everyone else is incompetent. But I’ve also met some incredibly helpful people who’ve gone out of their way to help me succeed. Rachel Rofe Especially (love her!)

I have a few copy clients now…and it’s kind of funny. They came to me for copy before I even advertised that I’m doing it. It was kind of “meant to be.”

So, if you find your writing getting stale, and the wonderful world of writing copy sounds appealing to you, don’t be intimidated. Get started! Yes, it’s tough to write a good sales letter. But with the right dedication and support you can do it in no time.
