How To Build an HTML Site-Part 1

December 23rd, 2007 by admin

Many people love to use Wordpres for their blogs and content sites. I do too! Still, there is something to be said for using a good old HTML site. If you’re into website flipping, they sell very easily. They are also easy to update and look great. I used an HTML template for my http://www.freshlypickedcontent.com site and everyone thinks that looks great!

The easiest way to get started using an HTML template is to get a great HTML editor first. I like to use NVU because it allows you to see what you are doing without digging into the code all the time. If you are just getting started, NVU is the way to go.

Today we’ll learn about downloading NVU, then tomorrow we’ll go about finding a great template (a template already has the design of the site…you just need to add the words!)

  1. Go to http://www.nvu.com

NVU

2. Then, select “Enter NVU Site”

Enter NVU

3. Next, click “Downloads” at the top of the page.

NVU3

4. Then, select your download, right click, and save to your desktop :)

NVU4

5. Be sure to unzip your file. You can now open it up and it explore it a little.

Tommorrow: Keep an eye out for how to find a template, download it, and put it into the NVU editor :)
